The Carmel Realty Company team was on hand Wednesday, April 24, 2013, at La Playa  Hotel  to honor Bill  and Vicki Mitchell, recipients of Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate's Lifetime Acheivement Award. Bill and Vicki are proud owners of Carmel Realty Company along with their daughter, Shelly Mitchell Lynch, her husband Dan Lynch and Peter and Cara Butler. The celebration was the final event in Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate's 11th Annual Spring Retreat, held for the first time in Carmel-by-the-Sea. Carmel Realty Company played host, inviting attendees to its office for local wine tastings and showcasing some of our most exclusive listings on a Golf & Ocean View Property Tour.

Bill & Vicki have been selling real estate on the Monterey Peninsula for over 30 years- they are experts in Pebble Beach estates, the quintessential Carmel Cottages and the custom-built Carmel Valley retreats. Vicki and Bill Mitchell of Carmel Realty Company Honored With Luxury Real Estate Lifetime Achievement Award

SEATTLE ' (April 24, 2013) ' Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate is pleased to announce that  the Spring 2013 Luxury Real Estate Lifetime Achievement Award recipients  are Vicki and Bill Mitchell, Owners and Managing Directors of Carmel Realty Company.

This prestigious award is given twice annually to Luxury Real Estate members who set an example for the real estate industry, display excellence throughout their careers, and achieve truly legendary status.

Vicki Mitchell has been a licensed real estate agent for 30 years. She has always specialized in luxury residential properties. In her early years of real estate, Vicki was as a top producer in the Atherton, Menlo Park and Woodside markets. In more recent years, her expertise has been focused entirely on Carmel and Pebble Beach.

Vicki holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree with a double major in Education and Speech Pathology from San Jose State University (1964), and has completed post-graduate studies toward an MA in Art History at Stanford University. Prior to entering the real estate profession, Vicki taught in the elementary school system in Redwood City in all aspects of the curriculum as well as speech therapy.

Vicki has always been an active participant in her community. Her past and current activities include: Junior League, Art through Education, Thrift Shop, and Child Abuse Board; Stanford Mothers' Club, Fundraising chairman; Cardinal Club Auctions, Nationally televised charity auctions for Stanford University; Garden Club of America, both Woodside-Atherton, and Carmel-by-the-Sea chapters. Visiting Gardens chairman and chairman for Piccadilly Park, Carmel; Carmel's Harrison Memorial Library, Maybeck Plaque; Pebble Beach & Tennis Club; Casa Abrego, women's club; active in Cavalier King Charles Club.

Bill Mitchell, a licensed California Real Estate Broker since 1974, founded The Mitchell Group Real Estate, Inc. in 1975. As Chairman and Owner/Broker, he built the firm to become the largest independently owned real estate business in Monterey County, with five offices and 140 agents, specializing in high-end properties. He sold the firm to Sotheby's International Realty in 2005. Subsequently Bill joined his family as Broker and Managing Director at Carmel Realty Company.

Bill holds a Bachelor of Engineering Sciences Degree (BS) from the United States Air Force Academy (1963) and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Stanford University (1973). He served on active duty for six years in the United States Air Force as an aircraft commander and instructor pilot including five years of combat duty in the Viet Nam conflict and was honorably discharged as a Captain, USAF in 1969.

In addition to his success in real estate, Bill was a full-time pilot for American Airlines for 33 years. He retired in 2002 as a Senior International Captain to devote all of his time to the Real Estate business. Bill also serves in key advisory roles for the Carmel Public Library Foundation, the All Saints Day School Committee on Trustees, the Advisory Committee of the Veteran's Transition Center at Fort Ord, and the Community Foundation of Monterey County's Real Estate Advisory Board.

Vicki and Bill are also recipients of the Billionaires Club award from Who's Who in Luxury Real Estate, in celebration of selling over a billion dollars in real estate in their careers. Vicki and Bill have been married for 48 years and have two daughters and five grandchildren. They are third generation Californians and are happy to call Pebble Beach home. Vicki and Bill are also avid fly fishers and frequently travel together to their ranch in Colorado and to international fly fishing destinations from New Zealand to Patagonia. Bill holds several fly fishing records in the IGFA and is also known as a talented airline pilot, poker player, and Road Captain of the Viet Nam Vets Motorcycle Club.
